Hidden in the Mountains near Castle Eastwaithe is a shrine dedicated to the worshipers of Nala, the Goddess of the Moon.
Often misunderstood those that pray to Nala are often called Heretics since worship of Kala, the Goddess of the Sun is commonly considered the religion of the Empire.
Small groups along the Southern Borders of the Lakelands still pray to Nala in secret so as not to be outcast by the Sword of Kala.
Though few know of it's existance, the Heretic Shrine is more than an altar to the Goddess of the Moon, but a Gateway to the Outer Worlds.

Though DE was formed around the game Diablo, the Shrine also acts as a bridge to include  Heretic II into the role playing (and gaming) tradition of  the guild.

Becoming a Heretic:

Anyone who plays the game or writes related stories is eligible to become a Heretic of DE.
Though the ranks of players do not come near matching the ranks of Diablo players there is still a strong community of players and supporters of Heretic II and many continue to develop modifications and enhancements of the original game.

Current news, forums, files, links, and information is still very active and can be accessed through www.hereticii.com. 

If you do not have Heretic II it can still be purchased online for 14.99 through the Activision Software Store.
You will also want to download and install the Enhancement Pack to play online.

Heretics will be identified by the tag }DE{ and listed by their favorite type of games/mods, weapons, spells, classes, and skins.
