Do not let the name "Academy" fool you into thinking it is only for beginning Knights. The City of Drak Tauros is built like a fortress as Draconia's Southern most defense against the Hordes of Westmarch. Though heavily damage during the Great War it still stands today as a tribute to the spirit of the Knights of the Draconian Empire. In recent years the reduced numbers of Knights in the Lakelands has prompted the founding of the Academy of Draconian Knights. The philosophy of the Academy is that the Strength of the Empire and the Duchy is not determined by the quantity of Knights but the quality of each and every Knight. Not only does the Academy strive to train peasants, citizens and squires it also strives to draw the All the Knights of the Empire to the Proving Grounds so that they might be able to improve and hone their skills. This is accomplished either through independent studies of the Quest or by requesting that a Quest be witnessed by a Senior Knight who may then record the achievement and present the appropriate award. In an effort to promote fair play and competition the Academy also has plans to host Tournaments for Knights of the Draconian Empire as well as invite Allied members for competition. Perhaps one of the most ambitious plans the Academy is
discussing is the creation of an Outpost on the borders of Westmarch where
Knights can keep a close eye on the Wastelands. This would not only give
the Empire early warning in the event the Hordes of Westmarch rise again
to attack the Empire, but would also put them in a position that they might
be able to draw new Knights into the Empire before they are corrupted by
the evils that lurk in the Wild.
