Exit to Lakelands

Today was the final battle I was going to finish this insane madness. I had
found the crack, behind the healer Pepin, that led the unwary traveler to the
depths of hell where Diablo himself awaited them. I prepared myself for this
venture who knows what manner of creatures would stand in my way. I donned my Najs
Platemail and Thinking Cap. Then equipped my Dreamflange and my Obs shield. It was
weird to see the solid black shield against my red robes but I knew that the power
of the material would help me greatly against the spells I was bound to face. I
went to Adria the witch to supply myself with plenty of potions to restore my mana
and then proceeded to enter the depths of hell. I climbed down through the crack
and was immediately I threw up my mana shield, the only way for a mage to survive
massive damage was to let the damage come from his mana instead of his life an
early lesson learned at the tower of magic. I stepped away from the crack with
caution the first creatures to be encountered were a band of knights I prepared
myself and threw my lightening at them, my eyes opened wide as it passed threw
them without so much as touching them. They continued advancing on me with renewed
vigor. I then stone cursed the group, I needed time I flipped though my spell book
and decided to use the power of fireball on the knights. As the fireballs landed on
the knights I could see it was working and finally I had dispatched the knights. I
proceeded farther into the level only to come across witches with blue skin these
died as well to the might of fireball, but as I was dispatching a group of these
blue skinned witches A pack of red dogs fell upon me spitting acid at me I turned
and threw the fireballs at the dogs, this had to work they were moving so fast I
didn't have time for anything else. My fireballs passed through the pack without so
much as singing a hair on them and then the pack was on me clawing at my armor. I
tried to move away but I couldn't get away from the group I knew this would be the
end but at the last moment I threw chain lightening out and it destroyed half of
the dogs while causing the others to recoil from the pain so I sent out the
lightening again and watched the rest of the dogs die. I needed to return to town
my armor had been damaged quite bad I had blood streaming from my body where the
claws of the beats had gotten through now their acid was festering in these wounds.
I set up the town portal and proceeded to enter the weightless void that took me
back to the town of Tristram. I went to Griz and he only shook his head at me "Tis
going to cost a pretty schilling to fix this my boy come back later and I will have
it ready for you" I left my armor and weapons with Griz and proceeded to Pepin to
get the acid out of my wounds he bandaged me as usual and as I left he called to
me "You need to be more careful down there I am glad I can help but someday you will
do something even I cant help you with" I went to see Adria again and got myself
some more mana potions then returned to Griz and reequiped my armor and weapons
after paying Griz. Then I went back to the dungeon through the portal I had left. I
had learned what spells to use on the beasts here in this part of the dungeon and
set them up so I could get to each one of them rapidly. I proceeded to look for the
stairs to the next level. Finally I could see the stairs ahead I proceeded down to
the next level of the dungeon and once again prepared myself. I was in luck the
next set of stairs were right there ahead of me so I quickly took them down, I knew
I didn't have much time left and had to complete my quest quickly. I came down the
steps wondering what creatures can survive this far in hell, my question was soon
to be answered as yellow balls of power were thrown. Then I saw the witches I had
heard of these before they were some of the strongest witches alive Soulburners
they were called. I threw my fireballs and lightening to no avail I tried
everything but my magic was not hurting them all I could do was freeze them
temporarily so I called upon the stones around me to form together in the
shape of a man and begin fighting for me. I froze them and watched the golem
shatter their frozen bodies. This type of fighting took some time. I
continued on into the dungeon up ahead I heard the chanting of a man "A man
down here what kind of man could survive down here" I cautiously headed towards
the chanting but my golem decided to throw caution to the wind and
charged into the room. The room filled with fireballs and witches spells the
golem fell before even touching anything in the room. Two witches came out
to meet me I knew their power was great when the first bolts they threw hit
me. I stoned and fireballed and watched the witches fall to the ground.
Then I proceeded into the room. It was Lazerus the Arch Bishop the one who had
betrayed the town of Tristram he had a boy on the altar but the
boy was dead now. As I took this in fireballs coming from the sides of the
room hit me almost killing me. The smell of my hair and flesh being burnt was
strong as I backed out of the room but Lazerous followed me throwing his
fireballs. One on one Lazerus was easy to beat as his fireballs hit my shield
dissipating and my fireballs took him to the ground. "Mercy on my soul young
mage and I will teach you of great power" he pleaded for his life. "The
same mercy you have shown the town of Tristram, the same mercy you showed that
boy in there. That shall be the same mercy I show to you
Lazerous" and with that I finished him with another fireball. With his death I
heard a portal open east of his room I went to look and there in the middle
of the floor was a portal to yet another level. I decided first I needed to
go to town before proceeding down the portal, so I went to town and
re-equipped myself then proceeded to venture further in to the depths of hell
to face Diablo himself.
After going through the portal the evil was so strong you could smell it, or
perhaps that was just the smell of my burnt flash still. I began fighting knights
that fell to fireballs and mages that required my golem to kill as I froze
them in place. Finally I was ready to face Diablo himself I released him from his
prison and began to bombard him with fireballs as he came out at me He was
calling up flames from the ground which engulfed me the pain was so
intense I faltered in my spells and he was upon me. With one great swoop of
his hand he threw me against the wall I heard my ribs crack. I stood with
great effort I could taste blood in my mouth. I started throwing fireballs
again but with each cast I was getting weaker and he kept coming at me. He
was almost apon me when my last fireball fell upon him. It ripped through his
chest and his dark blood began to spill out over me. I was watching his
bogy die for I knew his essence could not be killed by one such as me. As he
fell to the floor I though back on the story of Tal Rasha and how he had
pierced himself with a shard of the soulstone to help keep Baal imprisoned so
I picked up the soulstone from the fallen body and I thrust it into my
forehead. The pain was intense I had not thought that the fight left in him
would be this strong I had to find help there was no way for me to keep him
contained this way myself. I was no Tal Rasha I didn't have the type of power
he had. I began the only thing I knew to do and headed back for the lands
of the east where the Soulstones were formed they could help, they had to or I
would be doomed.
